ISO 4017 Hex Head Cap Screw

ISO 4017 Hex Head Cap Screws are fully threaded, which makes them also known as tap bolts. The width across flats (wrench size) of three sizes—M10, M12 and M14—is 1 mm smaller than like-sized DIN 933 hex head cap screws; ANSI B18.2.3.1M sizes M10, M12 and M14 are also 1 mm smaller. ISO 4017 is otherwise dimensionally similar to DIN 933. Steel Class 8.8 and 10.9 can be provided in zinc plated and plain finish, which lacks a rust protective finish. Sometimes called hex bolts, thread tolerance is 6g for plain finish and plated is 6h; threads are standard right-hand. Length is measured from under the head to the screw's tip. For a head width across flats that is 1-2 mm smaller, consider JIS B1180.
