DIN 6912 Low Pilot Head Socket Cap Screw

DIN 6912 Low Pilot Head Socket Cap Screws have a round recess in the bottom center of the hex socket recess that accepts the guide point of DIN 6911 hex keys (the diameter of the pilot point averages 62% of the key's size). The geometry of the reduced height cylindrical head reduces loadability, which renders them unsuitable for high-strength applications per ISO 898-1. Internally wrenched, they are supplied in Class 8.8 plain finish steel, unplated without a rust protective coating, and stainless steel. Tolerance of the external machine screw threads is 6g; right-hand threads are standard. Length is measured from under the head to the tip. If the full strength of a socket head cap screw is required, consider using DIN 912.
