Lag Screw Shield Anchors, Long

Lag Screw Shield Anchor

Also known as:

Lag Screw Anchors, Lag Screw Anchor Shields, Lag Expansion Shields, Lag Screw Expansion Shields, Lag Screw Shields, Lag Shields

Lag Screw Shield Anchors are anchors designed for concrete and the mortar joints of block and brick. Since they are not internally threaded, use lag screws, which are also called lag bolts. The Long style develops better strength in soft or weak masonry but the Short style will reduce drilling time in harder masonry because the required hole is not as deep. Lag Screw Shield Anchor size is specified as screw size (diameter) x anchor length. To install, drill the specified size hole at least 1/2" deeper than the anchor length, blow the hole clean and install the anchor flush (the anchor must be fully embedded). When installing in mortar joints, rotate the anchor so it expands against the block or brick, not against the mortar. Use a lag screw long enough to fully engage the entire length of the Lag Screw Shield Anchor.
