DIN 125 A Flat Washer

DIN 125 A Flat Washers, without chamfer, are a thin disk with a concentric hole and are one of the most popular flat washers. When placed under a nut or the head of a screw, the washer increases the bearing surface area and consequently distributes the clamping force over a larger area. That result is desirable when working with soft materials and holes that are too large or oddly shaped to properly support the screw head or nut. "Without chamfer" indicates that the outside edge on one side is not beveled. Steel in 140 HV, 200 HV and 300 HV, either zinc plated or plain finish (which lacks rust protection), and stainless steel can be supplied. Washers with a Hardness Class of 140 HV should only be used with bolts/screws below Class 8.8 and nuts below Class 8; 200 HV washers are suitable for Class 8.8/Class 8 and below; and use 300 HV washers for Class 10.9 bolts/screws and Class 10 nuts and below—they are not suitable for use with Class 12.9/Class 12 fasteners. Washers are listed by their nominal hole size, which indicates screw size, so if you have an M10 screw select an M10 washer. DIN 125 A Flat Washers may be the same as ISO 7089. DIN 433 is a smaller OD and DIN 9021 is a larger OD washer compared to DIN 125 A.
